Finding balance

It has been so hard for me these past few months to make time for this space. There have been so many days that I have taken some pictures and wanted so badly to share them. But, as it happens, by the time our computer was fired up and ready to go the quiet moment I had found to post those pictures just passed by as quickly as it had come. And then it's quickly on to the next thing from there.

This month I am going to make a great effort to post at least a little something each day even if that something is just a picture, a word, or a link to something we are interested in for the moment.

So then, until tomorrow.

Summer wear

Pool days are here and Carmel has picked out her favorite summer gear. She is really diggin' the red boots and I gotta tell ya, I am too. Unfortunately, they don't stay on her feet all that well. She still has some growing to do. Lots of it.

This little girly will be 1 on Friday. Where did my year go. I want it back!

Little play things

Does this look safe?
This has been Owen's new favorite place to be for the last week now.
Explore it. Climb in it.  Sit in it.  Bump your head on it. Ouch!  Sit in it some more.  Pretend to drive it.  Eat your snack in it.  Ask about it.  Talk about it.  Make up songs about it.  Sit in it some more.  Climb on it some more.  Explore it some more....

Grow so very very tired in it.  Ask, if you can take your nap in it.

Reasons to smile...

:: a blue sky after several days of gray
:: finding a beautiful flower to put in a vase.
:: not being quick enough about it and watching Carmel eat it.
:: Owen "mowing" the lawn with his scissors.
:: Cutting a salad for lunch with every single item of clothing on inside-out, backwards, or both.      I love that kid.

:: my new thrifted cup reminding me of being 3 or 4 or 5 (I don't really know) and hanging out with my mama and papa...(which is more like mamaw and papaw and not at all like momma and poppa, is that confusing?)..hmm, my grandparents.  They used to have cups like this and would sit in bed in the mornings with a three (or something) year old Jaime plopped down in the middle of them.  They would let me drink "coffee" with them out of a similar cup.  Good memories. Loving the cup.
:: the ducks running around outside and NOT in my bathtub.

Funny Bunny

I  have to share a couple of shots from a seriously funny Easter party.

1.  Owen receives his bunny teeth.
2.  Crazy funny bunny with wig. (I'm looking at this thinking I should have made him an Easter cape of some sort.  Crazy funny super bunny.)
I am now on a desperate search for more wigs because...how could I not be?  Look at this!  Yes, wigs and capes.  That's how it must be.

I sure hope everyone had a great weekend too.
